So you are splashing through the big piles of leaves on you way to work, kicking them about, enjoying the crunch.
There’s a man coming towards you.
He catches your eye, grins, and says ‘Autumn. Takes me right back to my childhood.’
And that’s when you realise the Star isn’t with you.

I cannot resist a good pile of leaves!
We do that as well and the number of people who walk past smiling is great.
Don’t let your inner child grow up, keep kicking up the leaves and jumping in puddles
Eh? Eh? Eh?
Don’t leave us on tenterhooks….
Beautiful and reassuring to know there are still places with piles of leaves to play in. In California, not so much.
I miss autumn. The sound of crunching dry leaves was a favorite. I remember purposely walking on them just to hear that sound. Not much of that going on here in Hawaii. =(
Fall is my favorite time of year. I live in Western NYS where we have leaves all over. Last weekend I spent the day raking the back yard into huge piles and watching my daughter plow through them. It was great to watch.
I’ve never stopped kicking through autumn leaves. And now of course there’s all the more reason for it with a child. I love autumn, no doubt about it. Shame it’s as good as over…
The Star was at home, Ben. With MiL. Although you wouldn’t believe the odd nagging sensation that I’d forgotton something that dogged me as I trotted out of the Gym and came back home the other day. Usually the Star’s in the creche there, but on that day I had to keep reminding myself that he wasn’t.
Hah! See! I knew Autumn is the best season. Glad so many other people enjoy it as much as me.
